Some Helpful Direct Mail FAQs
For address specific mailing where you want to target an area then Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) may be best for you. Size standards must be met.
If you have a mail list or are looking to reach a very specific addressee then an addressed type mailing may be better for you, smaller size postcards can be used.
Typically the EDDM will be less cost, the pieces do not have to be individually addressed to each specific address, however the EDDM pieces must be mailed to the entire route chosen, so more pieces may have to be printed and mailed to target for instance one subdivision in an area. Also EDDM postcards must be larger flat size pieces.
Yes, local rates are typically less postage as marketing mail with 283 prefixes are normally processed here in Fayetteville, allowing less postage cost and usually faster processing.
Absolutely, there are different rules for mail piece design that must be adhered to for USPS compliance. Also the printer has set areas they need for the addressing area, orientation is also important.

For a letter rate, the postcard must be no wider than 6 1/8" or no longer than 11 1/2" long, so a 6" x 11" postcard would be about the largest.
An EDDM postcard must be a flat size, so it must either be more than 6 1/8" wide or 11.5" long, so typically a 6.25" x 9, a 6.5" x 9.5", or an 8.5" x 11" would work.
We are full service, we can pull royalty free high quality images for your mail piece, or you can send us the photos you want to use, you can also email us the wording you would like or if you have a file, you can send it.
We will lay it out to be USPS compliant once we determine which mailing type is best for your needs. We can send you a proof usually in 2-3 working days.
Orders are printed, addressed and barcoded here on site, many mailings for flat postcards can be printed and mailed within 5 working days once proof approval is obtained.
We also do letter type mailings that include inserting letters and other insert pieces, stuffing & sealing with or without variable matching data (where the letter name matches the name on envelope).
You do not need to have your own permit for this, we can use our permit but we will need your non-profit authorization number, so if you had a permit but it expired we can check to see if the authorization number is still on file, normally the number stays on file with the USPS for some time allowing you to still get the much lower non-profit rate
Yes, we offer current lists based on the areas you need mailed to and the demographics or criteria you are looking for.
For instance you have a day care, we can provide a list for a radius around your location to mail to residents that may have a child in the age group your day care services.
The lists remain our property, we can only use them for your mailings through our company, they can be used more than once per year. We do not sell or share the rental lists.
Yes, if an 8.5 x ll page size booklet has small number of pages we can fold the booklet in half and tab them once it is collated and saddle stitched, allowing for the letter rate.
If booklet is thick normally we mail out as as a booklet if booklet page size is 8.5 x 11, this would be a flat rate postage to mail this way
No, you can only use one or the other.
